Advanced Light-weight BATteRy systems Optimized for fast charging, Safety, and Second-life applications
The EU-funded ALBATROSS project aims at developing fast-charging, cost-effective, efficient, and reliable battery systems with next-generation thermal management technologies that will provide the electric and hybrid-electric passenger car market with innovative solutions. Through a collaboration that involves 21 partners coming from 10 countries, the proposed solutions will tackle the concerns related to battery range, cost, reliability and charging times that are paramount to maximise the uptake of electric and hybrid vehicles in the European market.

LIBERTY’s comprehensive solution includes a weight optimised safe battery pack that combines high energy density cells with a crash-resistant, lightweight structure, a versatile battery management system, high-accuracy diagnostics tools, and a safe, innovative thermal management system.

Manufacturing and assembly of modular and reusable EVbattery for environment-friendly and lightweight mobility
The EU-funded MARBEL project aims at accelerating the mass market take-up of ultra-high-performance batteries for Battery electric (BE) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHE) cars. The project designs, constructs and demonstrates next-generation battery packs for the automotive mass market, with the goal of developing an innovative and competitive lightweight battery with increased energy density, shorter recharging times and longer life. Other key features addressed are ecological design, high modularity, use of recycled and environmentally friendly materials, additive manufacturing, and low manufacturing costs.
